VERO BEACH, Fla. — The Links at Pointe West, a semi-private course in the largest master-planned community ever approved for Indian River County, opened for play recently.

Pointe West features a drivable par-4, No. 18, which includes a waterfall between the layup area and the green. The water flows over rocks and into cascading pools to the left and right of the green. The hole measures 360, 291, 247 and 220 yards, respectively, from the course's four sets of tess.

The overall course yardage ranges from 6,951 to 5,166. The architect is John Sanford of Jupiter, Fla., while the golf director is Mark Cammarene, a former instructor at Nicklaus-Flick schools.
